It is with deep regret the Bart Township Fire Company announces the passing of H. Curtis "Buzz" Woerth
Buzz passed away on Thursday, August 17th 2017 after a brief illness at the age of 84.
Buzz joined the Bart Township Fire Company in 1951 at the age of 18 and served faithfully for 66 years. He was a life member, a member of the Special Division, a fire policeman and served most honorably as the President of the company for 25 years. Buzz was bestowed with the title of President Emeritus of the Bart Township Fire Company in 2007.

H. Curtis "Buzz" Woerth, age 84, formerly of Paradise, PA, passed away at Oak Leaf Manor North on Thursday, August 17, 2017. He was the husband of the late Shirley Rineer Woerth, who passed away in 2011. Born in Nickel Mines, he was the son of Hazel Rice Woerth of Quarryville and the late George K. Woerth. Buzz farmed his family farm in the Nickel Mines area, was a butcher at the Nickel Mines Store and later worked at Sperry New Holland retiring in 1990. He was a member of Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church. Buzz was an active member of the Bart Township Fire Company, was Past President Emeritus, served with the fire police for a number of years and also helped with Special Division. He was also a member of the Strasburg Sportsmen's Club, Slumbering Groundhog Lodge in Quarryville, and the Ancient Order of the Croaking Frogs, also in Quarryville.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by 2 children: H. Curtis "Hen" II, husband of Diane L. Whiteside Woerth of Quarryville and Roxanne W., wife of John R. Graybill of Paradise, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a brother, Kern A. Woerth, and a granddaughter, Wendy Jo Graybill.
A Memorial Service will take place from Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1199 Valley Road, Quarryville, on Monday, August 21 at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Doug Hileman officiating. There will be a greeting time from 6 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bart Twp.
