Working Commercial Structure Fire Full Company Assist Station 5-10 Strasburg FC

12/11/2009 06:20 - 94 Summit Hill Rd, Paradise Township, commercial building, full company assist Station 5-10 Strasburg FC.  LCWC reported that they were receiving multiple calls at the tractor repair facility.  Deputy 5-1 (Graybill) arrived with a 40x40 building well off with exposures and was directed by Chief 5-10 to assume command. Deputy 5-7 (Welk) assumed operations.  Engine 5-1-1 laid a supply line in and pulled the blitzfire & 300 footer to the charlie side, 3 hand lines were pulled by incoming manpower from Strasburg, Quarryville & Refton FC for exposure and fire attack and finally the bumper line to protect the large fuel tank on delta side. Tanker 5-1-1 picked up Engine 5-1-1's supply line and went into nurse tanker operation.  Truck 5-10 setup on the alpha side and went into master stream operation and was supplied by a second supply line from Engine 5-1-2 which was pumped by Engine 5-10-1 from a fold-a-tank at the end of the driveway.  Command requested an additional 6 tankers and Engine 4-7-1 was sent to setup a tanker fill site at the hydrant on 896 at Little Beaver Rd.  Rescues 5-7 and 4-8 setup RIT.  Hazmat 2-9 was dispatched to control hazardous material water runoff from the fire building that was entering a nearby stream. Air 4-8 was requested for the airbank.  Special thanks to the ladies auxiliaries from 5-10 and 5-1 for hot drinks and breakfast sandwiches.  Temperatures were in the low 20's and provided very slippery conditions on the fire ground. 12/16/2009 10:24 - 21 Reservoir Rd, Strasburg Township, chimney fire, Engine 5-1-1 & Tanker 5-1-1 assist Station 5-10 Strasburg FC.  5-1 crews split going to the roof to clear the chimney with chains and to the firebox to cleanout the wood from the stove.  Crews operated for about 1 hour before returning to service.  12/7/2009 - 14:18 - 100 Hall Rd, Lower Oxford Township, RIT assist on a dwelling, Engine 5-1-1 assist Station 21 Union Fire Co. of Oxford FC.  Oxford units were operating on a working room and contents fire. 11/3/2009 07:08 - Intersection of Weaver Rd & Miller Rd, Strasburg Township, 2nd Alarm Barn, Engines 5-1-1 & 5-1-2, Tankers 5-1-1 & 5-1-2.  Truck 5-10 arrived with a working chicken house fire requesting a 2nd alarm assignment.  Truck 5-10 & Engine 5-7-4 crews made a quick knock on the fire. Bart engine crews assisted with RIT and repacking the large diameter hose and tankers hauled several loads of water to the scene. Thanks to Christiana FC Tanker 5-2-1 for providing the engine company standby at Station 5-1.

11/2/2009 08:30 746 Noble Rd, utility pole, Engine 5-1-1 arrived with a smoking utility pole and called in the pole number to PP&L for immediate assistance. 11:30 - 37 Salem Rd, Colerain Township, Barn assist Station 5-7 Quarryville FC Engine 5-1-1 & Tankers 5-1-1 & 5-1-2. Deputy 5-7 (Welk) arrived on Engine 5-7-4 confirming a small working fire in the tobacco shed stripping room.  Engine 5-1-1 crew assisted with ventilation fans and 5-1 units were release a short time later.

10/27/2009 16:19 - 100 Sunset Drive, East Drumore Township, dwelling, Engine 5-1-1 & Tanker 5-1-1 assist Station 5-7 Quarryville FC Chief 5-7-2 (Ryan) arrived to find 2 1/2 story with heavy fire from sides C/D.  Engine 5-7-4 crews made a quick knock on the heavy fire conditions. Engine 5-1-1 & 5-1-2 crews assisted with ventilation, overhaul and lighting duties.  Tanker 5-1-1 supplied Tanker 5-7 with water and Tanker 5-1-2 was redirected back to Station 5-7 for standby.  5-1 units on-scene:  Engine 5-1-1 w/8, Engine 5-1-2 w/5, Tankers 5-1-1 w/2 & 5-1-2 w/2 and squad 5-1 w/4. Establish Landing Zone for SkyFlightCare In-service

10/26/2009 19:30 - Deputy 5-1 was contacted by Flight Medic Alan Wood of SkyFlightCare to establish a landing zone at the Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church at 1199 Valley Rd in Bart Township, for a flight in-service tour they were doing for the local cub scout & boy scout pack.  Engine 5-1-1 with a crew of 8 setup the landing zone in the ball field adjacent to the church.  24 Cub Scouts from Pack 87 and 15 Boy Scouts from Troop 87 toured the medical helicopter and asked the flight medics questions.

10/16/2009 16:42 - 442 S. Vintage Rd, Sadsbury Township, vehicle accident.  Chief 5-1 (Woerth) arrived to find a 2 vehicle accident with 1 injury. Engine 5-1-1 with 8 assisted with vehicle stabilization, hazard control and removed the driver side door with the new Holmatro 4055NCT cutters to allow for easier patient removal and packaging.  QRS 5-1 and Amb. 5-2-1 assisted with patient care.

9/10/2009 13:08 - 1077 Georgetown Rd, Bart Township, vehicle accident.  Chief 5-1 (Woerth) arrived to find a 2 vehicle accident. Engine 5-1-1 with 8 assisted with vehicle stabilization & hazard control while QRS 5-1 assisted with patient care.  9/10/2009 - Captain 5-1-2 (Kreider) installed a new draining pipe in the ditch on the east side of the station.  9/12/2009 - Members served over 400 patrons at our monthly all you can eat breakfast. After the breakfast, President Whiteside & Chief Woerth participated in the Christiana Days event.  Local fire companies competed in a blindfolded driver reverse steering tractor race.  Team 5-1 took 1st place.

Tankers Assist Strasburg FC on 2nd Alarm Apartment Building

9/09/2009 - 02:28 123 E. Main St, Strasburg Borough, 2nd alarm apartment building, assist Station 5-10 Strasburg FC tankers 5-1-1 & 5-1-2.  Chief 5-10 (Wentz) arrived with fire showing from an apartment building and requested a 2nd alarm assignment.  First arriving crews put a quick knock on the fire and crews had some extensive overhaul with fire running the walls.  Tanker 5-1-1 (Captain 2 Kreider) staged on the fire scene and Tanker 5-1-2 (Chief 2 King) was recalled enroute.

Tree Down, FP Assist, Vehicle Accident and Members Golfing

8/28/2009 - 07:37 Intersection Hollow Rd & Dry Wells Rd, Bart Township, public service tree down. Engine 5-1-1 assisted by the Bart Township road crew loader removed a downed tree from the roadway.  12:47 - Fire police assisted station 5-7 Quarryville FC with traffic control in Quarryville Borough at the intersection of Routes 472/372. 19:34 - 1361 Georgetown Rd, Bart Township, vehicle accident with injuries. Chief 5-1 (Woerth) arrived to find a car vs. SUV with multiple injuries.  Engine 5-1-1 crew secured the vehicles and controlled hazards. QRS 5-1 and assisting ambulances treated the injured persons.  08/29/2009 - Several members participated in a golf tournament hosted by Station 5-7 Quarryville FC and Station 5-12 Willow Street FC at the Tanglewood Manor Golf Club in Quarryville.  Click here for more golf pictures. First Due Vehicle Accident Involving One of Our Own

8/15/2009 20:34 - Intersection of Georgetown Rd & S. Belmont Rd, Paradise Twp, vehicle accident with entrapment,  Engines 5-1-1, 5-1-2, QRS 5-1, Medics 6-12-10, 7-7-9, 100.  Chief 5-1-2 (King Dave) was involved in the accident.  Dave established command from his portable radio advising there was 2 patients injured and one still trapped in the vehicle.  Engine 5-1-1's crew put the Amkus Hydraulic rescue tools in service, removed the passenger side door from the sedan to allow for the removal of the injured occupant.  Extrication was complete at 20:49 hours.  EMS crews treated and transported the 2 patients in the sedan to a local hospital.  The sedan ran the stop sign and pulled into the path of Dave. Thankfully Dave and his fiancé suffered no injuries in the accident. Crews cleared at 21:31.

Dwelling - Sump Pump Fire

8/11/2009 15:33 - 5044 White Oak Rd, Bart Township, dwelling, Engines 5-1-1, 5-1-2, 4-2-2, 4-7-1 Tankers 5-1-1, 5-1-2, 5-2-1, 5-2-2, Truck 4-2, Rescues 4-2, 5-7, Ambulance 5-2-1. LCWC advised that a sump pump in the basement was on fire and the resident were evacuating the dwelling.  Captain 5-1-2 (Kreider) arrived and established command; Captain 5-1-1 (Fisher) took interior ops with heavy smoke from the basement.  Engine 5-1-1 and Truck 4-2 crews provided ventilation. The box was held and cleared at 16:15.

Busy Weekend for Bart Volunteers

8/8/2009 - Members worked on serving over 430 patrons at our monthly all you can eat breakfast in the newly renovated banquet hall. After the breakfast cleanup was completed at 11:42 - 315 Market St, Oxford Borough, Engine 5-1-1 company relocate Station 21 Union Fire Co. of Oxford FC.  While enroute at 11:59 Engine 5-1-1 was dispatched in place of station 21 to a vehicle accident with reported entrapment at 1950 Barron Rd in Elk Township.  Chief 21 (Terry) arrived to find the accident in Rising Sun FC 1st due are in Cecil Co. Md and recalled the 21 assignment.  12:05 Engine 5-1-1 was again redirected to assist with manpower at the working dwelling fire at 131 Mt. Pleasant Rd in East Nottingham Township.  Crews assisted with overhaul and cleared at 13:29 hours.

8/9/2009 11:42 - Chief 5-1 (Woerth) came upon an overturned buggy at the intersection of Georgetown Rd & White Oak Rd in Paradise Township.  Upon further investigation, the horse went wild after suffering from heat exhaustion and overturned the buggy.  Engine 5-1-1 assisted with debris cleanup, traffic control and dousing down the horse with cool water until the arrival of a veterinarian.  After some violent storms rolled through at 18:10 - 300 Gap Rd at the Strasburg Railroad Museum, Strasburg Township, Commercial Building Box, Tanker 5-1-1 assist Station 5-10 Strasburg FC.  After some investigation, Chief 5-10 cancelled the box.  18:21 - 206 Lancaster Ave, Bart Township, public service tree across the roadway, Engine 5-1-2.

Working Hay Wagon Fire

8/5/2009 16:20 - 896 Mt. Pleasant Rd, Bart Township, brush.  Engine 5-1-2 w/5, Tankers 5-1-1 & 5-1-2 went enroute and were advised by LCWC that a hay wagon was on fire in the middle of a field.  Captain 5-1-2 (Kreider) arrived with a working hay wagon fire and requested Tanker 5-7 Quarryville FC.  Engine 5-1-2's crew pulled a 1 1/2" pre-connected hand line and began attacking the fire.  The incoming tankers supplied water to the engine.  The incident was placed under control at 16:43 hours.  The local farmers tractor was backfiring and sparks blew out the exhaust pipe back on to the hay wagon igniting the hay.  Crews cleared at 17:10 hours.

Assist Christiana FC on Farm Rescue

7/6/2009 17:18 - 200 Brick Mill Rd, Sadsbury Township, Farm Rescue, Engine 5-1-1 (R) assist station 5-2 Christiana FC.  LCWC advised responding units of a male with his leg entangled in a PTO (power take off) unit shaft.  Chief 5-2-2 (Meadowcroft) & Chief 5-1 (Woerth) arrived and confirmed the leg entanglement report and requested aero medical support. Engine 5-2-1 & Engine 5-1-1 crews worked together in a confined area with high temperatures using saw-zalls to remove the PTO shaft while QRS 5-1 and EMS crews stabilized the patient.  Extrication was completed in 38 minutes.  The patient was quickly loaded in to the ambulance and transported to the landing zone.  SkyFlightCare transported the patient to the local trauma center.  Units: Engine 5-2-1, Squad 5-2, Engine 5-1-1,QRS 5-1, Amb. 5-2-1, Medic 6-12-10, Skyflightcare.  Station 5-1 crews credit the Machinery Entanglement training class they participated in last fall by Ag Rescue Assoc. and lead instructor Eric J. Full Company Assist Quarryville on Working Dwelling Fire

6/10/2009 22:51 - 166 Maxwell Dr, East Drumore Township, dwelling, assist station 5-7 Quarryville FC.  Chief 5-7-2 arrived to find a single story rancher 3/4 involved.  Engine 5-1-1 with 8 was assigned to RIT (Rapid Intervention Team). Engine 5-1-2 with 5 was assigned to the manpower pool. Engine crews assisted with extinguishment and extenstive overhaul.  The PSP Fire Marshall is investigating the fire.  Tankers 5-1-1 & 5-1-2 shuttled water to the scene from a nearby creek draft site.  Units cleared the scene at 02:49 hours. Banquet Hall Renovation Update Pictures

6/24/2009 - This past Wednesday evening fire company members worked on sanding and staining the wood trim for the new banquet hall.  The mechanical room is underway and the electrical and drywall as well. Click here for more banquet hall pictures.

Busy weekend, Masonry Work, Advanced Fire Police Class, Hot Hay & MVA Assist

5/16/2009 - This past weekend, some of our members continued to work on the banquet hall renovations.  They finished blocking up the storage/utilities room and started blocking in the bay doors.  The company also hosted a 2 day/16 hour Advanced Fire Police Class.  Ken Hudson Jr. from the LCPSTC was the instructor for the class.  Over 35 neighboring fire police attended the class. 19:46 - 29 Esbenshade Rd, Paradise Township, Public Service Hot Hay, Engine 5-1-1 & Tankers 5-1-1 & 5-1-2 assist Station 4-7 Paradise FC.  Crews assisted several local departments in hand removing over 150 bales of hot hay.  22:07 - Just as Engine 5-1-1 cleared the hot hay call, LCWC directed them to cover Station 4-2 Gap FC at 1637 Mine Rd in Paradise Township, vehicle accident unknown injuries. Chief 4-2 Kurtz arrived to find 1 vehicle accident and a telephone pole across the roadway with downed wires.  Engine 5-1-1 assisted with lighting on the west side and fire police closed down the intersection.

04/13/2009 13:16 - Intersection of Georgetown Rd & S. Belmont Rd, Paradise Township, Vehicle Accident.  Engine 5-1-1 (FF Shaub) arrived to find a 2 vehicle t-bone accident with 1 SUV overturned in a field.  The engine crew assisted with hazard control, stabilizing and de-powering the vehicles.  QRS 5-1 began patient care along with Ambulances 4-3-1 Gordonville & Medic 6-12-10 LEMSA.  Crews cleared at 14:06 hours. 04/6/2009 04:39 - Intersection of Mine Rd & White Oak Rd, Bart Township, Vehicle Accident involving a horse & buggy.  Deputy 5-1 (Graybill) arrived to find a buggy on it's side and 2 patients. Chief 5-1-2 (King Dave) established command 5-1.  Engine 5-1-1 w/8 & Engine 5-1-2 w/5 assisted with hazard control & de-powering the vehicle.  QRS 5-1 began patient care along with Ambulance 5-2-1 Christiana, Medic 7-7-9 SVEMS & Medic 6-12-10 LEMSA.  Units cleared at 05:18.

03/22/2009 14:42 - 115 Hollow Rd, Bart Township, Brush.  Chief 5-1 (Woerth) arrived to find a working fire and requested Engine 5-7-5 from Station 5-7 Quarryville FC. to assist.  Engine 5-1-2 & Tanker 5-1-1 climbed the steep driveway, Tanker 5-1-2 & Engine 5-1-1 held on the hard road and sent crews in to assist. Crews deployed 3 lines to assist in controlling the fire.  Engine 5-7-5 came in from the top side to assist. The incident was quickly placed under control at 15:07.

Chimney Fire, Engine & Tanker Company Transfers to Chester County

3/13/2009 09:20 - 314 Lamparter Rd, Bart Township, Chimney, station 5-1 and Station 5-7 Quarryville FC. for Truck 5-7. Engine 5-1-1 w/8 & Captain 1 Fisher was advised by LCWC of a chimney on fire.  Captain Fisher established command and directed the engine company crews to check for extension and clean out the firebox. Tower 5-7 setup and dropped the chains down the chimney to clean it out. 3/14/2009 18:00 - Tanker 5-1-1 headed to Chester County Station 27 Cochranville FC for a scheduled standby while there members attended there annual banquet.  03/15/2009 03:26 - Tanker 5-1-1 transferred to Chester County Station 21 Union-Oxford FC  while area units were battling a large hay bale fire at the PA/DE state line. 03/17/2009 15:41 - Engine 5-1-1 w/8 relocated to Station 21 Union-Oxford FC  while there units were operating at a working mobile home fire in the Nottingham mobile home park. While on standby at "The Southside Station", Engine 5-1-1 assisted on 2 additional fires.  The first was a fire reported in the kitchen at 293 Baker Rd in Elk Township and the second was a gas leak at 100 Christine Rd in West Nottingham Township.

Engine 5-1-1 w/8 & Captain 1 Fisher OIC was advised by LCWC of a compost truck on fire in the intersection.  Engine 5-1-1 arrived to find a working truck fire, established command and requested an additional tanker from Station 5-7 Quarryville FC.  Engine 5-1-1's crew pulled the front bumper line and quickly extinguished the fire before it reached the truck bed. Tanker 5-1-1 supplied Engine 5-1-1 with additional water.  The incident was placed under control at 12:08, Tanker 5-7 was recalled and Nulls Towing of Cochranville was requested to the scene.

02/26/2009 01:55 - 1200 Block of Georgetown Rd, Bart Township, Vehicle Accident with Entrapment, station 5-1, Christiana Ambulance 5-2-1 and SVEMS Medic 7-7-9.  Chief 5-1-2 (King Dave) arrived to find a pickup truck head on into a boulder with heavy entrapment.  Engine 5-1-1 stabilized the vehicle and started extraction on the drivers side. Engine 5-1-2's crew split, pulled the front bumper line for fire suppression and assisted with extrication. Crews displaced the drivers door and pushed the dash with both rams.  Extrication was completed at 02:14 hours.  Station 5-7 Quarryville FC. Engine 5-7-2 was dispatched to establish a landing zone for Sky Flightcare Helicopter at the Green Tree intersection. The patient was air lifted to a local trauma center.  Great job to all personnel involved on a quick extrication !!

Woodworking Shop Fire and Brush Fire for the Day

02/25/2009 10:30 - 1278 Georgetown Rd, Bart Township, Barn at Valley Road Woodworking, station 5-1, Station 5-7 Quarryville FC.  Station 4-2 Gap FC, Station 5-2 Christiana FC & Ronks FC for Rescue 4-8. Chief 5-1 (Woerth) was advised by LCWC that a wall was on fire in the woodshop.  Engine 5-1-1 arrived with a light smoke condition from the structure.  Crews found an overheated fan, checked for extension and ventilated the structure.  The box was placed under control at 10:47 hours.  15:43 - 5441 White Oak Rd, Bart Township, Brush, Chief 5-1 (Woerth) arrived to find a woodpile and small grass field on fire.  Tanker 5-1-1, first arriving, handled it with the brush line.

02/20/2009 13:12 - 315 Bell Rd, Kauffman Woodworking Shop, Colerain Township, Building Industrial, station 5-1, Station 5-7 Quarryville FC. Full Co., Station 21 Union-Oxford FC Engine/Tanker , Station 27 Cochranville FC for Rescue, Medic 7-7-9 SVEMS. Deputy 5-1 (Graybill) went enroute & LCWC advised the occupants were evacuating the building.  Crews arrived to find smoke from the dust collection pipe and bin.  Tower 5-7 crews disconnected the feed pipe from the blower to the collection bin and extinguished the fire.  Interior crews worked on removing the 24" collection tube to the blower from the ceiling and extinguished the fire.  Crews cleared at 15:11 hours.  Special thanks to Station 4-2 Gap FC Engine 4-2-2 for providing the engine company standby.

Full Company Assist on 2nd Alarm Commercial Building Fire

02/08/2009 23:24 - 3451 Lincoln Highway E, Paradise Township, full company assist on a 2nd alarm Commercial Building fire at Vintage Sales Stables. Chief 4-5 arrived to find the registration building well off and requested the 2nd alarm assignment.  Initial engine & truck crews knocked the bulk of fire and prevented it from spreading to adjacent stables. Engine 5-1-1 with 8 arrived and established RIT on side alpha beside Gap FC Rescue 4-2.  Engine 5-1-2 with 5 and Squad 5-1 with 5 rotated crews out with the RIT crew and manpower staging.  Tankers 5-1-1 & 5-1-2 shuttled water from the fill site to porta-tanks on scene.  Thanks to station 5-7 Quarryville FC engine 5-7-2 for handling the relocate.

Active Leak From a 1,000 Gallon Propane Tank on S. Belmont Rd

02/05/2009 12:53 - 340 S. Belmont Rd, Paradise Township, Gas Leak, station 5-1 and Station 5-7 Quarryville FC Rescue 5-7 & Gordonville FC Ambulance 4-3-2. LCWC advised Engine 5-1-1 a subject was cutting down a tree and it fell on a 1,000 gallon propane tank and is leaking. Witmer FC Chief 4-10 was in the area reporting a significant leak and was evacuating the area.  Engine 5-1-1(Asst. Chief King Dave) established command and requested additional fire police to shut down the roadway and evacuate residences.  Whitelock & Woerth Inc. propane service technician and Bart Twp. Fire Company Firefighter Michael Shaub driving Engine 5-1-2 determined the tank was 30% full according to the gauge and the fill valve was completely knocked off flush with the tank.  Chief 5-1 (Woerth) assumed operations and directed Engine 5-1-1 to go into service with the 300 ft line to suppress the vapor cloud.  Command requested an additional engine from station 4-7 Paradise FC and tankers from station 5-10 Strasburg FC, station 5-7 Quarryville FC, station 4-5 Kinzers FC and station 5-2 Christiana FC for additional water.  The tank vented for approximately 45 minutes until emptying and units returned. Thanks to station 5-7 Quarryville FC engine 5-7-2 for handling the engine relocate.

Engine 5-1-1 relocates to Westwood FC due to another Coatesville Arson Fire

01/25/2009 01:03 - 1403 Valley Ave, Valley Township, Engine 5-1-1 relocate Chester County Station 44 Westwood FC.  Engine 5-1-1 responded with 8 personnel along with Station 5-2 Christiana FC Tanker 5-2-1 and Chester County Station 69 Twin Valley FC Engine 69-2. These units were dispatched as a task force relocate assignment to station 44. Multiple task force relocates were sent to surround Coatesville city from Chester, Lancaster, Delaware & Montgomery Counties.  Coatesville City FD and 30 + surrounding stations were battling a 6 alarm city block of row homes on Fleetwood St.  This fire was another arson related fire which has been plaguing the city for weeks.  Engine 5-1-1 cleared at 04:55.  Our condolences to the Westwood Fire Company on the passing of Assistant Chief Chester A. Taylor Jr.

01/22/2009 11:04 - 1627 Noble Rd, Colerain Township, assist Station 5-7 Quarryville FC.  Quarryville units were operating on a chimney fire with extension and requested additional manpower from station 5-1. Engine 5-1-1 and Tanker 5-1-1 made the response with 10 personnel.  Upon arrival, crews assisted 5-7 crews with salvage and overhaul tasks.

01/17/2009 07:01 - 1873 Georgetown Rd, Colerain Township, Andrews Bridge Church, Automatic Fire Alarm.  Chief 5-1-2 (King Dave) arrived to find a false alarm due to cooking and recalled the assignment.  10:50 - 729 Georgetown Rd, Paradise Township, Carbon monoxide alarm.  LCWC advised no one was home but a neighbor hears the alarm sounding. Crews entered to find no CO reading. Just as units cleared the CO alarm at 11:03 - 358 Camargo Rd, Eden Township, Barn, full company assist Station 5-7 Quarryville FC.  5-7 Units arrived to find a working fire inside a 30 x 50 barn.  Tanker 5-1-1 was the 1st in mutual aid tanker and hooked into Engine 5-7-4's supply line.  Crews were released a short time later. 12:50 - 3204 Vigilant St., Leacock Township, Tanker 5-1-1 relocate Station 4-3 Gordonville Fire Co.  Area units were operating on a 2 alarm dwelling on Route 340 in Station 4-4 Intercourse Fire Co's first due.   01/18/2009 12:27 - 875 Brackbill Rd, Salisbury Township, Assist Station 4-2 Gap Fire Co. on a commercial automatic fire alarm.  Gap units arrived to find a broken sprinkler pipe and water flooding the building.  Area units were called to assist with putting tarps over equipment and using salvage masters to cleanup the water on the floor. COLD !!!  Dwelling RIT Assist to Quarryville & Chimney Assist to Strasburg

01/15/2009 02:04 - 250 Black Bear Rd, East Drumore Township, Dwelling, Engine 5-1-1 for RIT assist Station 5-7 Quarryville FC.  Chief 5-7-2 (Ryan) arrived to find fire showing from the Delta side and upgraded the assignment from a chimney to a dwelling box.  Chief 5-7 (Cox) established command 5-7. Quarryville & Robert Fulton crews opened up the walls to expose & extinguish the fire.  Engine 5-1-1 setup RIT in the front yard. Just after crews returned, at 03:57 - the same dwelling box at 250 Black Bear Rd was struck out for reburn in the walls. While enroute at 04:07, Chief 5-7 redirected Engine 5-1-1 to station 5-7 for standby.  Just after returning from the standby at 06:10 - 3657 White Oak Rd, Eden Township, Chimney, Engine 5-1-1 & Tanker 5-1-1 assist Station 5-10 Strasburg FC.  Engine 5-1-1 arrived to find a smoke condition inside the dwelling.  Captain 5-1-1 (Fisher) established command 5-10 until the arrival of Truck 5-10. Crews laddered the roof & dropped the chains to clean out the chimney and cleaned out the stove firebox.

01/13/2009 04:31 - 3306 Harvest Dr., Leacock Township, 2nd alarm on a Barn, Tankers 5-1-1 & 5-1-2 assist Station 4-3 Gordonville FC. 01/01/2009 01:03 - 1361 Georgetown Rd, Bart Township, vehicle accident class 1.  Captain 5-1-2 (Kreider) arrived to find 1 vehicle overturned blocking the roadway.  Engine 5-1-1 w/8 assisted with vehicle depowering and debris cleanup.  QRS 5-1, Ambulance 5-2-1 & Medic 7-7-9 performed patient care.
